Another sunny Saturday and yet another garden party. This one organised to raise funds for the Chernobyl Affected Children, in Audrey’s beautiful garden…
…and there were some books on the Bring’n’Buy table
I have read and re-read Scoop, and Cold Comfort Farm, but never owned them. “The Amateur Cracksman” is one of the Raffles, Gentleman Thief series [neither us has read that] and we know nothing about James Wilcox “Modern Baptists” but were intrigued by the title.
A great haul, in beautiful condition, for £2. They have been put aside to go to Norfolk next month!
This morning I did the WasteWatchersWindow display in the newsagents. Now I am going to lay on the bed and rest my leg some more!
This time last year, we attended three events on one afternoon. Common sense has prevailed, and this year, we are doing one only and then recovering from the heat.
Oh my goodness, you live in Leicester. We only moved back up here from Leicester earlier this year, can I be nosy and ask where you live and which Church your husband is pastor of???You can send me a message and I will not publish it obviously.
ReplyDeleteThe Suntrap Garden is hopefully going to be saved. The Friends of Suntrap have to come up with a business plan to run the garden using volunteers, as long as its at no cost to the NTS. So we are going to have a jolly good crack at it. We need money as well as volunteers, there is a lot to do in the garden.
Did you see the earlier post where I put up pictures of the garden on the open day this year?
Thank you for the comment on my blog, did you really mean 100 years ago? LOL.
Csarina.
What a lovely day for it too

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone - and Cioara's message is Romanian and apparently says "Very interesting subject, I look on your blog and I like what I saw I. Have a nice day!"
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me, well you always inspire me, but I think we'll have to have a garden party here. With wet weather contingency plans. Very Wet Weather contingency plans!
