Today I Am Praying For...

Vietnam, where a typhoon has caused great devastation, and mudslides, and people have been killed, and many more have been made homeless

Greece and Turkey, where recent earthquakes have caused much devastation, rescue teams continue to search for those trapped in the rubble.

The people of France, mourning those killed in recent attacks.

The USA, as the country goes to the polls this week. Many people are anxious about the outcome - especially if there is a delay in the results being announced.

Nazanin Ratcliffe, who is back in court again this coming week in Iran. This happy photo is two years old. May justice be done - and may she be reunited with her daughter again soon.

Lord, you know I am sick of covid19 and the restrictions it has brought me; I want to visit my children, I want to hug my friends, I want to yell at people who should know better but continually ignore the rules, I want to smile at strangers and not cover my face with a mask,  I want to go to church and sing my heart out...but help me not to be so self centred- help me to realise that my 'wants' are trivial in the face of the real grief, and deprivation, and anxiety and distress faced by my brothers and sisters around the world right now. Give me a loving, caring heart - help me to see these your children as you do - and show me what actions I can take to make this suffering world a better place.

  1. The world needs all our prayers. It's one thing after another, isn't it? Some, like the earthquakes and typhoons are beyond our control, but, so many others are not!

  3. Amen. You are so right Angela, it's easy to get lost in our own "troubles" at the moment and forget how much worse things are for others.
