Just a few pictures of last week’s Ruby Wedding event. As soon as I had got back from preaching, Bob and I went down to the party, arriving just before 1pm. We sat under a lovely gazebo, in Frank and Barbara’s back garden, for lunch.
First course provided by the Paella Man
Then Frank made a speech…
…and he and Barbara cut the cake
with the official Almond Family Samurai Sword!
Dessert was a delicious assemble-it-yourself Eton Mess
Sadly we had to leave the party early, as Bob was preaching on Sunday night…but it was good to celebrate with the family.
Looks like a good celebration. What a good idea the self assemble Eton mess

I think it is definitely an idea worth repeating
DeleteI absolutely love all the ruby redness, even the chef's apron is red!
ReplyDeleteWe had a family knife for cutting celebration cakes, but don't where that ended up.Dad cut his 21st birthday cake with Nelson's First Lieutenant's sword...I didn't.

Now that would have been a great sword to use - was it his, or borrowed?
DeleteBorrowed from the Archbishop of Canterbury's son whose house Dad celebrated his birthday in.

It sounds as though it was a lovely celebration. What a good idea to have the Paella man!
ReplyDeleteIt did make life easier for the family to have an outside caterer, they were able to enjoy chatting and not worry about the cooking!
