Reasons To Be Cheerful

Firstly that we have - despite all the criticism, a very good Health Service in this country. Here I am on holiday, but I am still able to get an appointment with a local GP and medication, very quickly. I only had to pay for the meds, not the consultation. I am suffering from phlebitis and my legs are a mess but healing well.
Second, that I can get books from the library and use the computer there, all quite freely.
Thirdly, tonight we will be at my brother's for a meal. I'm responsible for dessert, so taking locally made ice cream, fresh berries and home baked cookies. (Orcs-see post on May 11th)
So much to be thankful for - holidays, health, education, food and family.

And it's the weekend and we are hoping to go to the fair in Fakenham this morning. I hope your weekend is good too!

  1. Sorry to hear you are poorly on your holidays. It's so annoying when that happens but, as you say, we have a lot to be thankful for. The NHS only gets in the news when something goes wrong but most of the time we get a really good service.
Hope you're soon better ...... and those cookies look marvellous.

  7. Hope you are better soon. Woke to heavy rain pattering on my roof which I love. Have a roof over my head, food in the pantry, clothes on my back and a fire in my grate and just to round it off a 'bus pass' Big thank you to all those working their little socks off and paying tax to keep me and fellow pensioners looked after.
