Pitta, Paté, Raindrops

Thanks for all the lovely Christmas and New Year messages.

I'm still on the post-Xmas diet of eating up food in freezer, fridge and cupboard. Watching the wet and windy weather outside, and singing nursery rhymes with grandchildren..

How's your new year shaping up?

What's the weather like on your neck of the woods?

  2. There were some heavy bursts of rain yesterday, lucky they didn't last long. No floods this time and no trees down. Snow next they say!

  3. Been very wet and windy with some light snow. Now it’s frozen overnight so another warning about staying home. We have plenty of nice food to eat and will be staying indoors. Safe journey to Stef and family. Catriona

  4. M uch better this morning in Dorset, a brightness in the sky and m uch colder. Yesterday was the darkest day ever. I shall bring in logs today to keep the stove going and stitch hexies together, maybe a short walk to find catkins. I saw the floods further up Country were dreadful again, pray they all get help. 6. No rain here. I read that we are having a very dry year due to the effects of La Nina. According to the forecast, there might be two days of rain towards the end of January.

  13. Changeable. High of 19C this past Sunday followed by a heavy thunderstorm Tuesday evening with an excessive amount of lightning. But we're expecting a low of -7C next week. Potentially heavy snow Sunday night into Monday. Mid-atlantic USA weather follows that old line: if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute.

  15. After a frosty start, the sun is out in Somerset and hopefully some washing will dry on the airer by the patio window. Gifted eldest grandson a box of Celebrations and some savoury crackers.
All Christmas decorations are now in the attic.

  16. We had bright blue skies but perishingly cold in Derbyshire. The last little bits of pate and pork pie were eaten last night, only biscuits and chocs remaining. Dentist visit today but only a clean and polish to do. Hope Steph and family got home safely and no floods in their area. Hugs Xx

  18. No warm weather or sunshine to brag about in our part of Ontario, Canada, either. The temperature has been above freezing for a few days and mostly drizzly and windy. We were promised a drop in temperature but it is only around freezing. Still have some choccies around, too good to resist altogether!
