Ten Days And Counting...

Because the wedding is there, and we are here, we have accumulated quite a lot of stuff in Dorset that needs to get to Kirby Muxloe for Saturday Week. As well as bunting and table favours and pompoms, there is all the booze [Steph's been saving her beer allowance from work] cakestands, coolboxes and Bob's sound system and stage lighting gear.

Two good friends in Leicester, Chris and Paul, have kindly agreed to let us keep things in their spare bedroom for a week or so. So Bob went up the M1 yesterday to deliver it all. The car was packed to the gunwales*

But at least I have some space in the dining room again - it's been out of action for days.

*Aren't nautical words fascinating? Sailors seem to abbreviate everything and alter pronunciation. Gunwales rhymes with tunnels, boatswain rhymes with chosen, and rowlocks rhymes with...

  7. If it is 10 days to the wedding, that means it is 9 days till I land in the UK and arrive in Kirby! Not that the 2 are connected, I just happen to know I arrive the day before. I hope all your plans come together for the day.

  8. Wow, what a mountain of things - good job you are so organised & your friends are so helpful. So exciting that the wedding is getting close. Our dining room table disappears in a similar way from time to time, sometimes leaving enough room for us to still eat at one end, sometimes not! , Vee x
