Ten Days And Counting...

Because the wedding is there, and we are here, we have accumulated quite a lot of stuff in Dorset that needs to get to Kirby Muxloe for Saturday Week. As well as bunting and table favours and pompoms, there is all the booze [Steph's been saving her beer allowance from work] cakestands, coolboxes and Bob's sound system and stage lighting gear.

Two good friends in Leicester, Chris and Paul, have kindly agreed to let us keep things in their spare bedroom for a week or so. So Bob went up the M1 yesterday to deliver it all. The car was packed to the gunwales*. 


 But at least I have some space in the dining room again - it's been out of action for days. 




 *Aren't nautical words fascinating? Sailors seem to abbreviate everything and alter pronunciation. Gunwales rhymes with tunnels, boatswain rhymes with chosen, and rowlocks rhymes with...

    Until I read this, I assumed that "gunwhales" was spelt "gunnels"!!

    If it is 10 days to the wedding, that means it is 9 days till I land in the UK and arrive in Kirby! Not that the 2 are connected, I just happen to know I arrive the day before. I hope all your plans come together for the day.

    Wow, what a mountain of things - good job you are so organised & your friends are so helpful. So exciting that the wedding is getting close. Our dining room table disappears in a similar way from time to time, sometimes leaving enough room for us to still eat at one end, sometimes not! , Vee x
