Hmm! Powerful video - just a shame it doesn't actually demonstrate how to wash your hands properly. I was told, when I was doing food hygiene training many moons ago that you should sing 'happy birthday' whilst washing you hands as this is the minimum time needed to wash them properly.
Palms, backs, fingers, between fingers, round thumbs, round wrists... then rinse... or something like that anyway.
We always come right home after church and wash hands. It's really cut down on colds after shaking hands with everyone. I'm more hesitant about eating out these days, too. I remember when I worked in a sandwich shop when I was in seminary. The boss dropped a large roast on the floor. He was scared to death to waste it lest the owner find out, so he washed it under the faucet and heated it back up in the oven. Fast food has never been the same for me since.
in a restaurant in the States, there is a sign in the washrooms that tell you to sing Old MacDonald had a Farm for a verse or two, I can't remember how many now, while you are washing your hands and when you have finished the song you will have washed your hands enough......
