Demnezeu Sa Te Binecuvanteze

Which means "God bless you" in Romanian. Sunday is our Christmas Shoebox collection day
Like last year, Bob and I opted to do teenager boxes. [thank you to Clarks Shoes in Ringwood and Salisbury for the 2 empty boxes]
Essential toiletries, and things like a hat, scarf, warm socks are always well received. And for girls, some sanpro. In Eastern Europe the girls do not have the benefit of groups like The Red Box Project which UCF supported last year
I'm so grateful for belonging to such a generous fellowship.
More Romanian... Craciun Fecit - which means Happy Christmas. I put a greetings card in each box, and decided it was better to put my message in the right language.
Are you involved in a project like this? What have you put in your box?

  1. I always do a teenage boy for ours as apparently they are the least popular to do - I can understand why - like men they are more difficult to buy for especially when you have never had boys yourself - I do struggle a bit sometimes. I usually manage to pick up some nice bits in Sainsbury's though, like you warm hats, gloves and I always include a small game or two.

    1. I hope they like the little screwdriver kits which I was given at the Screwfix show!

  2. That's wonderful and I am sure two young people will be very happy to receive the boxes you've filled. I am not involved in a project like that, but, when I was working, I was involved with putting together care packages for the elderly and the homeless in our city.

  3. I have filled these boxes in the past and left them at a local church. This year I'm helping with collections at my own church for the poor and homeless in the downtown area.
At the weekly Out of the Cold dinner on December 23rd we will distribute Christmas gift bags which include things like underwear & socks, toiletry kits, simple but useful gifts, and various treats.
We also support a couple of refugee families so things will be packed up for them also.
