Jam, Jelly and Jewellery

After last week’s Lady Macbeth post, blogfriend Sandie said she’d swap a jar of jelly for a jar of chutney. Well, as I’d only met her for the first time on the previous Monday, and discovered she lives about 4 miles away, this seemed a lovely offer.

Yesterday afternoon I drove over to her place – bearing 3 small jars, suitably labelled** and ‘capped’ . Sandie was so kind, we drank tea and chatted about our mutual crafting passions.

I came away with a whole bagful of treasures…

Jam, and jelly, made from her Mirabelle plums, a sheaf of useful recipes, a pretty little MOP button heart, a bag of cooking apples – and a pair of gorgeous Millefiori ear-rings, which she’d made from some of the beads she had purchased at the Bardon Craft Fayre.

What a generous lady – thanks Sandie- we must get together again sometime!

**Labelling was proved a priority when Bob tried to put some of the new chutney on his toast, thinking it was jam!

I have two shelves of preserves now – I am feeling like a true Proverbs 31 housewife…

She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family …

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all can renovate gazebos.”

    I bought the beads at the NEC, not Bardon! Although I'm sure Sue (@home blogger) could make some...can you Sue???
    Any way, glad you liked your little gifts.
