Where Has The Time Gone?

It is my birthday today. I was born on Easter Sunday, and I love Sunday birthdays. The house smells gorgeous - on the dining table is one of the table centres from last week's reception [gift from my generous SIL Denise] Some of the blooms have been extracted as they were drooping - but the perfume of the roses is great. So often professional displays are all about the appearance, but this one has the scent too

In the lounge, my blue hyacinths are blooming and filling the room with their equally lovely fragrance. These were a birthday gift from best friend Christine. 

It has been an amazing year - settling down in this lovely church and community, gaining a son in law and a grand-daughter, supporting Steph in the London marathon, and watching Liz and Jon becoming parents and house-owners. I have put on weight - but I am riding my bicycle much more. Whilst I miss the classroom, I have been kept busy in other ways. So much to be thankful for, and to look forward to
The Lord has promised good to me, 
his word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be, 
as long as life endures
