The Bear Facts

Barnaby Bear is a popular character in Primary Schools. Children take him home for the weekend and write diaries of his activities. He travels a lot and gets to meet important people

BB & DC

One of my schools needed some clothes for BB – so my project this week has been to make them, plus an accompanying book.

Here it is…

  1. Do you know how pleased my girls would have been to dress BB in his pjs before they took him to bed?

    Has DC kidnapped BB in that picture you've got there? "Accept the 2 year pay freeze, or the bear gets it!"

  2. Perhaps we should run a caption competition.
    What about
    "Barnaby Bear says he is unavailable to be Secretary of State for Schools - but I am sure Michael Gove will try harder in future"

  3. Angela, that is so cute! What a neat idea to have a book to go with it.

  4. I like the idea of a caption competition. Of course, DC wouldn't necessarily have had the BB experience as a child - where could a bear travel when stuck in a posh boarding school?

    Oh, and God bless and save Michael Gove, so completely out of his depth and unsuited to his job!

  6. Too cute!
    If Barnaby ever wants to visit Canada he is welcome to stay with me but if he chose to visit during the winter he would need;
    a snow suit, snowboots, snowshoes, a toque, and some good thick gloves. I have a stock of hand and feet warmers to tuck inside boots and gloves which are probably difficult to get in the UK.

  10. Fantastic! I have vague recollections from my teenage years of a lunchtime children's programme with a bear called Barnaby and a dire song that began

    "Barnaby the bear's my name
    "never call me Jack or James..."

    We have a mole at church called Millie and she's been to Whitby (Yorkshire) and Poland over the summer holidays. She also went (ostensibly rather than literally) to Nepal to do some research for our TLM services.
