Field Work

My September stitching celebrated the Harvest, with a tractor beside a golden cornfield. Wildflowers including poppies in the foreground, and a couple of barns on the hills behind. I made up the picture, using a number of rural scenes for inspiration. Variegated threads gave good colour for the land. The tractor has come out well. I'm not too happy with the barns [they look like little cars]

It's all done in cross stitch apart from the back stitch outlining, and French Knot poppies. I don't think it is Norfolk - too many hills!

Kirsten's September piece is this lovely stitch sampler in autumnal shades

    1. Thanks for your kind words, Sue - yes, we are already in discussion about 2024 [the projects seem to run from February each year so we have 4 months of this one to complete first]

  10. They look great. Is it difficult? Bearing in mind that I definitely don't have your craft gene

    1. Cross stitching is good because the holes are evenly spaced so your work is automatically kept neat!
