All that stitching of Rosie's Mildred costume, and the "Strive" badge reminded me of a favourite hymn. It's been an 'earworm' for meall week. Posting this especially for one of my blogfriends who is away on a much needed weekend break [you know who you are!]
Drop thy still dews of quietness, till all our strivings cease
Take from our souls the strain and stress
And let our ordered lives
Confess the beauty of thy peace
My very favourite hymn

DeleteGood morning Angela, This too is my favourite hymn. I find the words so calming and the tune very melodic, let us hope and pray that so many people in troubled places may find peace and calm. Sue H
ReplyDeleteAmen to that! π❤️πΆπ
ReplyDeleteI love this hymn. It's been a long time since I've sung it, though.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's as popular in churches as it used to be
DeleteAn unfamiliar hymn but lovely. May all heed it's words whether from the hymn or the still, small voice.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

DeleteThis has always been my favorite hymn with the most beautiful tune. I remember it from school assemblies rather than from church. I really enjoyed hearing it again today. Thank you for posting this. JanF
ReplyDeleteOh yes, often sung in Assembly at my school too
DeleteOne of our favourites.

DeleteI remember this one from school days. It was always a favourite of mine.
ReplyDeleteI think many people born in the 50s will have sung it at school
DeleteThank you for sharing this hymn. I, too, hope that there will be peace among all the people of this earth.
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad that we keep hoping for peace, but there are still those determined to cause war
DeleteI love this hymn. I can remember about half of each of the verses without the words so it always come out rather oddly when I sing it to myself! Thank you
