A Slew of Definitions

Saw this wonderful sign on a building site in Leicester at the weekend. So I checked up 'slewing' in the dictionary. There are various possibilities

DSCF0036

Redirecting the beam of a fixed antenna array by changing the relative phases of the signals feeding the antenna elements[this sounds like something out of a Science Fiction novel]

Being somewhat drunk [quite likely for many people in Leicester on a Friday night]

Moving obliquely or sideways, usually in an uncontrolled manner

[this is probably the correct one]

Old Joke - A young Anglican curate was at a Conference, where dress was informal. He was concerned that he might not recognise the VIPs. "How do I know which ones are Bishops?" he asked a friend "Oh that's easy - the bishops always move diagonally!"

New Thought - could a renegade bishop therefore be said to be guilty of slewing?
