Skip To My Lou, My Darling!

Quite a few pensioner friends have had minor injuries recently, caused by falling. Someone told Bob that the reason so many elderly people trip and fall is because as we grow older, we lose the ability to skip – and therefore to recover our footing if we start to stumble. [That is ‘skip’ as in ‘bounce from one foot to the other’, not ‘jump-rope’ as they say across the pond]

Lose the ability to skip?!

That’s awful! I love skipping, and often do it when I am feeling especially happy. Since hearing this claim [which I have, as yet, been unable to verify] I have skipped even more than usual, just so I do not lose the knack.

Hoping that when I retire, I shall still be able to skip along the beach at Cromer – with the enthusiasm and glee of the child on the left, just like these two OAPs pictured on the right.

But I shan’t dress like this lot!

Are there any other 50+ women out there who skip? or is it just me?

I love to skip!! I think it is one of the greatest ways to move. Too bad people would think I'm crazy if I started skipping my way down the sidewalk! Now the beach...there's an idea!
Just wanted you to know that I finally publish the St. Nicholas church in Dereham that you told me about!! Please have a look at it and let me know if you think anything needs changing! I linked back to you! I wasn't able to put in as much history as I wanted but... people are given the links to find more!
many many thanks and I hope you have a wonderful Easter!
    Blessings!

  2. The suns found my GB skipping rope in the garage this week, so as soon as a mysterious and very painful stomach complaint settles, I shall get out there and skip ropeless and ropefull!
