Do you remember this song from Mary Poppins?

All around the Cathedral, the saints and apostles look down as she sells her wares

Although you can’t see them, you know they are smiling, each time someone shows that he cares

“Saints and Apostles” is the name of the Etsy shop of Joan, from Cyclades, Greece. This week I was privileged to receive a gift from a friend – it was a bag made by this talented craftswoman.

Unexpected gifts, wrapped in purple tissue, tied with pin ribbons and strewn with rose petals are incredibly exciting!

The zipped clutch bag is leather, with a golden silk lining. It will be the ideal accessory for my outfit when I go to a friend’s wedding in August.

As well as being a designer, Joan is also passionately concerned for animal welfare. She regularly auctions her bags through her blog, and the money raised goes to help support neglected cats, providing neutering, veterinary treatment and vaccination.
